I'm feeling the need... for speed!

WOOHOO! It's a good start of the week for racing game fans! Just bought Project Gotham Racing 2 and Need For Speed: Underground and been switching between the XBox and the PS2 for the past few days. Let's have a little rundown on how both games went.

Project Gotham Racing 2 (XBox)

An arcade racer that borderlines racing sim.
A huge stepover it's predecessor in terms of graphics AND game modes.
Have a nice little feature where you can go around the showrooms of carmakers in first-person view and get to have a little test drive the cars on display. However this might turn you off from playing the game from the beginning if you did what i did; jumped straight into the new Enzo Ferrari and drove it around the test track. Hell, the MINI just don't cut it no more lol.
Still too bloody hard to Platinum Medal everything.

Need For Speed: Undergound. (PS2)

I've been playing the PC demo version and i was impressed by the gameplay. However the PS2 version was a little inadequate. Maybe it's because that i've been spoilt by the rich graphic display of PGR2 on the XBox.
VERY arcadey. No damage on cars. Sucky physics.
Everything that a 2F2F fan would love. Drag racing, Drift competition, vinyl decals, side skirts, under-car neons, the ultimate Rice-racing game.
Graphics wise is a letdown. I'm waiting for the XBox version to ship in so i could BOOST BOOST BOOST the NOS in full graphical glory.
Too easy. The AI sucks, even at the hardest level. I've completed 25% of The Underground mode in the last 3-4 hours.

So that's it from my perspective. Each has it's own appeal and stands on their own. So call your games supplier and have a go at these games and see for yourself!

A bi-weekly update

Hi all.

Lot's of things had happened (or lack of happenings rather). I've forgone going to school for the past week and failed to submit most of my final assessment items for the semester, thus i shall be repeating the current semester, next year. It really boiled down to lack of effort in terms of completing my assignments. I know that i'm capable of coming up with good things for my coursework. My classmates can vouch for that. I'm pretty vocal in classes and contributed plenty. The teachers have been supportive and understanding but i failed them. I failed my classmates, and most importantly i failed myself. Sigh. Maybe i need a change of air. Maybe Cyberjaya would bring out the best in me. Here's hoping for the best, next year. Now, how do i break this news to my parents..

Went to Times Square during the week, and i scored this guy.

(credits to Ben's World of Transformers for the images).

Binaltech Transformers 2003 Subaru Impreza WRC/BT-01 Smokescreen. This thing had just rekindled my love for Transformers. It just begged for me to fork out RM200 and bring him home, so i did. Now it's sitting on my bedside drawer, in the box, unopened. It's fkn impressive with all that details and articulation. I'm gonna get the plastic Hasbro version to play with. Looking forward to getting the new Masterpiece 20th Century edition of Optimus Prime and the BT-02 2003 Dodge Viper/Sideswipe.

Well as you can see, nothing much had happened in between updates, apart from today where my (cough, our)Satria's battery shitting itself, and me having to wait at the workshop for the rain to stop so i could bring the mechanic to come over to the house and fix the new battery in.

That's all from me folks.

Check last update.. OH MY GOD!

Haha... see that yellow box thing on the left? That is SO WRONG. I have all the time in the world to blog tapiiiiiiiiiiiii malas! Too much Gunbound is hazardous towards your social life and education!

Okay let's catch up on a few things..

First of all i'm waaaaay behind of schedule in terms of kerja sekolah and i DO intend to do my work n stuff.. but intentions alone won't budge the wagon, tau, but ARGH SO MALAS!! HELP.. And now it's puasa time, most of the daylights are left outside while i ZzZz thru the day, wake up at say 4pm and puasa for like 3 hours ahahah. To Snow: I'll see you in college soon ok? Miss me already? hahaha.

Oh and i got rid of my prepaid number, so now i'm on a post-paid plan. My new number will be sent to most of you people on my contact list soonish, once i'm done procrastinating.

Me, Fen, Bangchik, Mira and Bangchik's friend, Sufian Bibir (we call him bibir cuz he's got some LUCSIOUS lips hahah) went over to Sg Wang to have my favourite Teppanyaki Chicken Rice for buka puasa. Yum it was awesome. After that we went to the arcades, i had to have my fix of Drummania, and the dumb thing had it's hi-hat stuffed. This is the third time that i haven't got a satisfying fix of Drummania, twice at MidValley and once here. I seriously had thought of getting the original Konami Drumset for the PS2 and i'm thoroughly prepared to fork out RM400++ for the damned thing. But our regular PS2/XBox games seller who we call 'Gemuk' said that they're hard to come by and whenever one comes around, they'll be like double the price. I DON'T CARE! GIMME MY FKN DRUMMANIA FOR FUK'S SAKES! *Puts on Drummania mp3*

We also bought a couple of DVDs, naughty copies of movies that had yet to come to the local cinemas. My thoughts on pirated movies: If you delay, we won't pay. Yeah. I'm talking to you FINAS! Delaying the release of movies only makes the regular Joes and Janes restless, so we go down to the local VCD koh-koh and do the "Psst got new movie ah?" dance. And oh, i heard that Underworld was banned from being screened in Malaysia? Hah! Thank you for driving the cinema business downwards!

I just got off Nasz's blog. It has been my regular stop for the past few weeks and reading about her daily adventures cracks me up, because she's like always on the go hanging out or out for family things and complaining about not having time to do her assignments.. Oit Nasz, look at the bright side. I am the bright side. I have ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD and yet i've done jack shit. :p

On the other hand, tomorrow would be fkn hectic. I had to bring down the curtains and take the sofa set cover off to be sent for Hari Raya cleaning. Plus going to the bank(s), sending stuff to my grandmama.. would i have time to do my school shit? Guess not, but i'll probably get off my ass tomorrow and start doing stuff for school. Haha! Wishful thinking, i say!

Well, guess this makes up for all the lack of updates, and a big THANKS to those who took their time to read all this junk. You know who you are.

ps: Any fellow #1979.undernet of circa 1997-2000 chatters here? Gimme a SHOUT here ---->
